Meredith’s renowned education program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)/Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). CAEP advances excellence in educator education through evidence-based accreditation that assures quality and supports continuous improvement to strengthen P-12 student learning.

Accomplishments of Program Graduates

Standard Professional Licensure I (0-2 years)

  • 97% Pass rate on Praxis and/or NCTEL for all graduates who pursued licensure in North Carolina
  • 100% job placement for those who sought positions in public, private, charter schools in N.C. and out-of-state
  • 76% employed in N.C. public schools within one year of program completion—the state average is 63% (source: N.C. Public Schools, IHE Performance Report, 2016-17)
