Professional Biography

My areas of specialty in our undergraduate and graduate programs are pre-service teacher education, literacy instruction, and academically and/or intellectually gifted children. I have presented at and served as a peer-reviewer for state, national and international conferences, developing relationships with numerous professionals in the field. My publications include two children’s books, My Dirty Cat Mutt and Myrtle the Blue Eyed Turtle, in addition to articles on constructivist teaching practices and differentiation through learning contracts in the post-secondary classroom. Recent interests include grant writing and implementation of technology (interactive whiteboards, tablets, applications) in the classroom.
