Dr. Shanita Brown is a Board Certified Licensed Professional Counselor, Counselor Educator, and Servant Leader. She received her Ph.D. in Counseling and Counselor Education from North Carolina State University. Dr. Brown has over 15 years of experience in the clinical mental health field providing culturally competent individual counseling in private practice, academic, and community mental health settings. Additionally, she has taught a variety of graduate level counselor education courses. Dr. Brown, a SAMHSA Minority Fellow and servant leader, has authored scholarly publications and professional presentations related to mental health counseling, intimate partner violence, and culturally relevant student programming.
Dr. Brown’s extensive work in intimate partner violence includes service with the NC Domestic Violence Taskforce and Board of Directors for the NC Coalition Against Sexual Assault. She’s been a guest on several podcasts, radio shows, and featured in media outlets.
