Phil Kirk served as Director of Business and Leadership Development for Brady, a comprehensive energy solutions company. Former positions include Chief of Staff for Governors Holshouser and Martin and U.S. Senator Broyhill; President/CEO Emeritus of North Carolina Chamber; Secretary of N.C. Department of Health and Human Services (twice), Vice President for External Relations at Catawba College, and public school teacher. In addition to his service on the Meredith College Board of Trustees, he has also served as a member of the Campaign Planning committee and as former Co-Chair, Meredith Capital Campaign.
He was a member of VIF International Education board, the Education Committee of Greater Raleigh Chamber, and he was a Sunday School teacher. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Raleigh and Ridge Road Baptist Church. He is also Chairman Emeritus of the State Board of Education.
Kirk earned his B.A., English and Secondary Education, and an Honorary Doctor of Laws at Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C.
