Mary began working at Meredith College in 2004. She loves working for the department of World Languages and Cultures; not only is she a “mom” for the students to turn to, but also works with the WLC faculty that comes from all over the world. She enjoys the opportunities to attend and participate in events that allow her to learn and experience the different languages, foods and cultures of this diverse department. Her work in the Honors Program is more student-based and affords her to connect with students off-campus in a different setting, such as their annual fall trips and Focus on Excellence Events (FOE) to musicals, plays, and field trips. She is often affectionately referred to as the Honors Mom, by the students.
When not at work, Mary enjoys spending time with her menagerie of fur/feathered babies, as well as supporting the local shelters. She is the go-to for helping a pet find a forever home. She also enjoys her antiques and works at a small antique mall – some weekends – where she is able to meet and interact with customers, as well as add a bit to her own collection.
