Karen Dunton puts strategy into action as director of marketing at Meredith College. While managing the day-to-day operations of a 14-person team, Dunton oversees the development and execution of marketing campaigns designed to support the College’s recruitment, fundraising, and image-building goals. She also leads Meredith’s paid advertising efforts aimed at increasing interest in undergraduate and graduate programs. A member of the Marketing Leadership Team, Dunton regularly assesses the effectiveness of the Department of Marketing in achieving its stated goals while also bringing her strategic strengths to the larger College through her engagement with a variety of college-wide committees and initiatives.
Dunton graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Arts in communication. Prior to joining Meredith in 2004, Dunton was communications specialist for the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. She has also worked as a communications professional at The Baltimore Zoo and the Parks & People Foundation.
