Alex Holmes spent the first 25 years of his career in the tax practice of Arthur Andersen & Co., an international public accounting firm, and moved to Raleigh in 1989 as the managing partner of its Raleigh office. Upon his retirement from Andersen, he began a consulting career advising families and closely-held business owners in matters of tax, estate, philanthropic, and business succession planning.
Holmes has been very involved in the Raleigh community, co-founding Communities in Schools of Wake County, and serving on the boards of Habitat for Humanity, Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina, and The Children’s Home Society of North Carolina. He and his family are active in Forest Hills Baptist Church. He continues to serve on various boards of The University of Virginia where he received his undergraduate business and law degrees.
