Donna Wilson Thagard earned a B.S. in accounting from Meredith in 1987. She was president of Meredith’s Student Government Association (SGA) her senior year and has served as Class Gift Agent, Advisory Board member and Public Campaign Steering Committee member.
Thagard is senior vice president and corporate controller at BMC Stock Holdings, Inc., where she is responsible for accounting, financial reporting, and business process outsourcing activities. She has substantial expertise in financial accounting, treasury, real estate transactions, integrating acquisitions into financial systems, controls, and compliance. She joined BMC Stock Holdings, Inc in 1991 as assistant controller. Prior to that, she was an audit senior with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
Originally a native of Clinton, N.C., Thagard is a Certified Public Accountant and has attended management programs at University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Thagard is a deacon and active member of White Memorial Presbyterian Church, former passive fundraising coordinator at St David’s School, and a former board member of the Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill. She and her husband, Leonard, have two sons.
