Darrell Woodard Jr. joined the athletic training staff at Meredith College in the summer 2021.
Woodard holds a degree in athletic training from UNC Chapel Hill where he worked with the wrestling, men’s and women’s lacrosse and softball teams. While with the Tar Heels, he conducted comprehensive initial evaluations of musculoskeletal injuries and also triaged and developed daily rehabilitation plans for multiple athletes. Woodard also collected and recorded necessary medical information and provided secondary coverage for youth camps.
In addition to his experience with the university, Woodard served as an intern at the Morris Cardiovascular and Risk Reduction Center in summer 2019. While at the center, Woodard created and implemented rehabilitation courses for disabled and geriatric patients and also completed patient intake.
Woodard was a volunteer wrestling coach for the UNC-Chapel Hill wrestling club for nearly two years. He scheduled practices and created practice plans for college aged athletes. He also served as a liaison with the facilities management team.
