Anthony Reid is a Social Work Instructor and the Director of Field Education in the Department of Psychology and Social Work at Meredith College. He has a background in clinical social work with a concentration on families and children and emphasis on healthcare in marginalized communities. He also specializes in addiction treatment and destigmatizing the challenges of substance use in society.
For Reid, supporting healthy assessment, intervention, and evaluation to address concerns related to marginalized communities, addiction treatment, and families and children address significant intersections in social work education. These issues often challenge a student to examine core social work values of human dignity, worth of an individual, social justice issues, supportive interventions, and ethical behaviors.
