Human Computers Exhibit

October 4 - October 10

African-American, and other North Carolina women who worked as mathematicians for NASA and the Department of Defense displayed in the Cate-Park Center Alcove.
The Human Computers exhibit that pays tribute to the Meredith College, African-American, and other North Carolina women who worked as mathematicians for NASA and the Dept. of Defense is now installed in the Cate Center Alcove.
The women from Meredith College who performed this work were largely from our Mathematics and Chemistry programs and were active in the Canady Math Club. The exhibit was produced by two Public History classes (Spring 2020, Spring 2024) and also recognizes their work in securing a state highway historic marker.
On October 9th at 7pm there will be a screening of the film “Hidden Figures” in Kresge Auditorium.
Refreshments will be served during the screening.
The exhibit will run through October 15th.

Please contact Dan Fountain (fountain@meredith.edu) or Angela Robbins (aprobbins@meredith.edu) for comments or questions.
