Biblical scholar and author Dr. Nyasha Junior will give this year's Preston Lecture in biblical studies. Her talk, Sarah, Hagar, and #MeToo, will focus on issues of gender and race in the story of Sarah and Hagar.
The lecture will be held on March 19, 2019, at 6 p.m. in Jones Chapel. A reception and book signing will be held in the Chapel Common Room following her talk.
Dr. Nyasha Junior is Associate Professor of Religion at Temple University in Philadelphia. She holds a Ph.D. in biblical studies from Princeton Theological Seminary. She is the author of An Introduction to Womanist Biblical Interpretation (Westminster John Knox Press, 2015).
