Transfer student Aspen Degler, ’22, earned a double major in criminology and sociology with a minor in forensics. Meredith’s StrongPoints® program, an internship, and faculty mentors helped her determine her strengths and explore her career interests.

After sharpening her skills in the United States Marine Corps, Tylena Brown, ’22, chose to attend Meredith College as a Wings — Adult Education student studying business administration with a concentration in human resources.

Ten Meredith College students were chosen to work with faculty mentors this summer on undergraduate research projects supported by Meredith’s Undergraduate Research Program.

The Voices of Change Political Institute, a comprehensive non-partisan training program for women, recently began its second year of training. A partnership of Meredith College, Advance NC, and the North Carolina Black Alliance, the Voices of Change Institute is designed to help women build their confidence and develop the practical skills to run successful campaigns and serve as powerful and effective leaders.

For the sixth year in a row, 100% of the graduates of Meredith College’s Master of Science in Nutrition program have been matched to dietetic internships (DI).

Students in Meredith’s Dual Degree Engineering program participated in the First-Year Engineering Design Day (FEDD) at NC State at the end of the 2021-22 academic year. FEDD is an opportunity for first-year engineering student teams to showcase their design projects.

On May 16, 2022, Meredith College’s Interior Design program officially received reaccreditation from the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA).

Meredith College celebrated the Class of 2022 with two commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 14, 2022. The ceremonies were held in the College’s courtyard. President Jo Allen, ’80, and Senior Class President Casey Corpening, ’22, were the featured speakers.

Professor of Religious and Ethical Studies Steven A. Benko is the editor of a recently published book that explores ethical concepts through popular television shows. Better Living Through TV: Contemporary TV and Moral Identity Formation addresses the moral meanings that audiences might take from television shows of the last 20 years.
