Quote:  Believe in yourself and your abilities.

Q: What do you think is the most important aspect of a woman's studies degree?
A:   Understanding that women, regardless of their race, religion, etc., share common issues being women.

Q: What experiences such as internships, research, course work, etc. stood out for you and what were the benefits of these programs for you?
A:  Taking Women's Studies classes along with social work and psychology classes enabled me to understand women's issues in a larger context.

Q: In retrospect, what portion of the women's studies program has had the most impact on your life?
A:  It is a tie between WST 200 (introductory to women's studies) and WST 495 (global women's studies).  WST 200 helped me understand what feminism was all about and that I was a feminist without realizing it.  WST 495 helped me understand issues that women face throughout the world and how these women are promoting change.

Q: What was the most fun about the women's studies program?
A:  Working in small groups discussing issues, being a part of the Zine Project, and sharing stories with other women.

Q: What would you suggest to other Meredith College students interested in taking women's studies?
A:  Take WST 200.  You could learn so much about yourself and many issues that women face within the U.S. and in other countries.  You will also learn what feminism is all about.
