Wow! We are half way done with the program. Can we stay longer?! This week has been another great week in London...I do not think there can be a bad week here in London. We have done a lot this week. We have gone as a group to a tour of Parliament, the Globe Theater and to the Shakespeare play Henry VIII at the Globe. I have enjoyed all these events because they all seemed to back up our knowledge that we have learned in class about Henry VIII. I really enjoyed Parliament because I was very curious about how they ran their government and what input the Queen had in the law making process. I have also gone to see two other plays this week, Legally Blonde and Lilies of the Land. I have enjoyed all of these activities. I still have a lot of things to do that I have on my "bucket list" but I am running out of time!
This weekend we have another free weekend. I love free weekends because there is always a bit of adventure. I am planning to go to Bath, Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Oxford. This is going to be another tiring weekend but you must learn time is precious here—you must keep yourself busy because there are always things to see that are very close to you! I cannot wait to look back on this trip and see what all I have done in just four weeks!

This weekend we had a long weekend, this means we get out of class around 10:45 on Thursday and we do not have class until Monday. This is very nice because we are able to go anywhere (reasonable distance) for the weekend with a group from our program.
On this long weekend trip I went to Paris. I had never been to Paris before this trip and was very excited with the opportunity to go somewhere new! I went in a group of six girls. We booked our train tickets and a place to stay all by ourselves! This was a big learning experience because we were on our own! We also had to learn the new metro system so we could get around. By going to Paris we were able to see things such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Army Museum and Napoleon’s tomb. We packed in a lot of sights this trip- we made use out of our time we had there!
I really enjoyed going to Paris and experiencing several new learning experiences. This is a trip I will always remember but I was ready to come back to London- my new home away from home! I was ready to be reunited with the new friends that were not able to go and tell them all the things I had seen! It was a great first long weekend...now what should I do for the next long weekend?!

Today was the first day of class and the first day of adventure! We began the day by meeting with Dr. Rogers who talked about odds and evens about this study aboard trip. We then met with our different classes and mine was Shakespeare in London! After the class was dismissed and we ate lunch we were then sent to explore London on our own. This may seem like a daunting task but with a group of girls you can figure out anything! We set out to go see the Tower of London. Since we are studying Henry IIIV in our English class, I found the sights where Anne Boyeln was held prisoner and then killed very interesting. It was nice to make this connection with what you are learning in class and see it with your own eyes! I then went to see the most famous Queen's Jewels...it is a must in a Meredith's girl eyes! Today and every day is an adventure in London and every Meredith girl should "just experience it."
