This weekend was amazing! We decided to take day trips to Brighton and Oxford. Even though it was cold and really windy at Brighton, it ended up being a lot of fun. Instead of sand, the beach is covered with pebbles, which was unexpected, and the water was really cold. So we decided to grab some lawn chairs and hang out for a couple of hours. We just hung out there for a while and had lunch which was really relaxing.

Today we went to Oxford. We went to Oxford University; the buildings were all made out of stone and the campus was really beautiful. It was unlike any other university I have seen before. The ground was covered with pebbles that were kind of hard to walk on and I can’t imagine having to walk on it all year round. Earlier this week, we met another American on the tube who told us that we need to go shopping in Oxford because the shopping there is better than it is in London. So we were curious and decided to go into a shopping complex and she was definitely right!  There were so many people there just shopping. However, we forgot that everything closes at 5 p.m. on Sundays so we did not have enough time to go to all the stores. It was probably one of the best weekends I've had since arriving in England. I can't believe I only have 10 day more days though. I don’t ever want to leave!

I absolutely love London! It is amazing here. We just had our first long weekend so we decided to go to Paris. I was really excited to go but once I got there, I couldn’t wait to be back in London. It was really hot and a lot dirtier than London. We did see the Eiffel Tower, which was amazing. Seeing it at night was even better because it lights up. We went to the top of it and you could see the entire city from there. We also saw Notre Dame, the Louvre, Arc de Triomphe and the Invalides. Going to see all of these things was really nice but the weather made it really hard to enjoy Paris. Hopefully I will go back one day when it isn’t as hot and have a completely different experience.

I am back in London though and I couldn’t be happier. I went to Harrods today, which was really fun. Today was the last day of the big sale at Harrods so it was really crowded and everyone was going crazy trying to get everything they wanted before it was over. I was completely shocked to find a box of chocolates that were priced at 87 pounds!  I couldn’t believe that someone would pay that much for a small box of chocolate. The last two weeks have flown by and I can’t believe I only have two and a half weeks left here.

I can't believe we have already been in London for four days now; time goes by so fast! I absolutely love it here!  We are staying at Heythrop College in South Kensington and couldn't have asked for anything better. It is in the middle of everything; there are lots of shops, restaurants, pubs and much more right around the corner. The tube is also very close, which makes it very easy to travel and go to other parts of London without having to walk a great deal. Although it does get very hot in the tube and congested when people go to and get off of work, it is very convenient and not complicated at all as I had imagined it would be before I got here.

We have done a lot of sightseeing so far. We took a Big Bus Tour and went on a boat ride the first day we got here. So far we have gone to Imperial War Museum, Tower of London, Wimbledon and Trinity Gardens. It has all been very fun and I have already learned a lot about England's history. The food here is amazing but a little expensive. On our first day, we were looking for a place to eat and realized that we weren't going to find prices like we do back home; some restaurants had dishes that were 25 pounds. I don’t know I'm going to get everything done before we leave and I can’t wait to explore the rest of the city!
