La Picolla citta di Sansepolcro

“I made it. I am finally here!” I thought to myself as I stepped off the plane and boarded a bus that would take me to our final destination, Sansepolcro, Italy.

The bus trip through Tuscany was gorgeous. The country side was filled with small Italian villages, with tiled terra cotta roof tops, rich green Cyprus trees and field after field of bright yellow sunflowers. As much as I wanted to stay awake and view the countryside, I slowly started to give in to how tired I felt and fell asleep. I woke up a few minutes before our bus pulled into the small town of Sansepolcro.

As I stepped off the bus, I was greeted by stone apartments, cobblestone streets, and gorgeous gardens. After a short walk we stepped into the large wooden doors of the Palazzo Alberti. It was beautiful! Just inside the doors we gazed at the giant, arched ceilings, open staircase and beautiful frescos. After we each struggled to heave our luggage up the stairs, we began to get settled into what would be our home for the next few weeks. After we all had unpacked, we all enjoyed a fabulous meal, prepared by the palazzo’s personal chef, Margarita.

After we had all stuffed ourselves full of Italian food, we decided to walk around the beautiful town. So here I am in Sansepolcro, exhausted and excited, and I can’t wait for my first adventure.
