Entry 1: June 9 2009

Wow! Today was so awesome. I love Costa Rica more and more each day! The bus ride to Monteverde and Santa Elena was short and sweet. I am very proud of myself for riding all of the cables and flying on the "Tarzan" rope through the canopy. Everything was so high! Several of the girls including myself fear heights, so today was a wonderful bonding experience.

Costa Rica is the most beautiful place in the world in my opinion; all of the locals are very friendly. I captured a great, up close picture of a hummingbird that I am really excited about. The bridges were very shaky which scared me at first. I couldn't believe men were hanging on the outside of the bridges while painting! ahhh. Surprisingly I'm not homesick at all. At the end of each day I am filthy! I loved playing in the stream; the video of us is hilarious! I have seen many beautiful birds. We also have toured Santa Elena, which by the way has the BEST ice cream. I really want to see a monkey before I leave Costa Rica. I am having a spectacular time!!
