Desktop and Computer Lab Support

Desktop Support Specialists (DSS) will provide 2nd level hardware and software (OS) support in the field for faculty and staff.
DSS will maintain the Open/Common and Department/Curriculum computer labs that are located throughout the campus.
Staff, faculty, and students should call the helpdesk for issues relating to desktops, laptops, or computer labs. 760-2323.

Open/Common Computer Labs
A Camcard (campus card) is required for access into the labs. Note: During summer the labs may close earlier due to a lack of activity.
The Computer labs, at specified times, may be reserved for class use. Schedules for class reservations will be posted on the lab doors.
The LINC lab will never be scheduled for classes after 5:00 pm or weekends.

Department-Curriculum Computer Labs
Department computer labs can be used by students who participate in programs associated with the department hosting the lab. Each lab computer comes with the standard load of software and specific software that fits the programs requirements. View Software PDF icon
Counseling Center lab (6 computers) with software and hardware to support special needs students.
Learning Center Lab (8 computers) Supporting college tutorial services.
Technology Training Lab (11 computers) Supporting faculty and staff technology training needs.
Graphics Lab (15 Mac computers) and Digital Art Lab (6 Mac computers) Supporting the Art Department instructional needs.
Health, Exercise and Sports Science Lab (6 computers) Supporting instructional needs of the HESS Department.
CAD Lab (17 computers) Supporting instructional needs of Interior Design and Fashion Merchandising students.
Human Performance Lab The Human Performance Laboratory (HPL) at Meredith College is dedicated to providing athletes and fitness enthusiasts with unbiased scientific testing by certified and knowledgeable staff.
Department of Biological Sciences Facilities/Lab - Each full-time faculty member in the sciences has access to an individual research lab dedicated specifically to ongoing student-faculty research projects.
Library Index Lab (9 computers) Supporting library research and student general computing needs.
Music Lab (10 computers) Supporting the Music Department instructional needs.
Sociology Lab (5 computers) Supporting instructional needs for the Sociology and Social Work Department.
BIT Lab Supporting instructional needs of the Computer Science/Computer information systems curriculum.
Hatcher Language Lab (24 computers) The Hatcher Language Learning Center is a public computing facility with specialized equipment to facilitate language acquisition.
