Meredith Software
| Meredith College uses site and individual licensing to manage distribution of software for its faculty, staff, and students. Site licensing which is restricted to a particular quantity, is the primary method for software purchasing. Meredith College is a member of North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (NCICU). By being a member of this organization Meredith has been able to establish buying relations with Microsoft and Adobe products. |

The Microsoft Campus Agreement
provides Meredith faculty, staff, and students with a variety of software
packages that can be installed on Meredith owned equipment. The bulk
of this software is part of the Standard
Load that is installed on all Meredith employee and student machines. |

Through
the relationship with NCICU, Adobe products that need to be installed
on Meredith owned equipment, are available for purchase at very reduced
prices. These are not site licenses. They should be treated as individual
licenses. If a licensed copy of an Adobe product has been installed
on a staff or faculty computer, that individual can arrange to have
the software installed on a non-owned Meredith computer for work purposes.
If the employee leaves Meredith it is their responsibility to remove
the software off the computer. All Shared
Computer Labs and the MAC labs do have Desigh Premimun installed.
Visit the Adobe Site to see what
software is available for purchase. |

Currently Meredith College has a unlimited site license for installation of SPSS on Meredith owned computers. If you laptop doesn't have SPSS installed, please contact the help desk at 760-2323 for instructions. Please be aware that the license number changes each year. If you do have SPSS installed, but it is not working, it's probably a license issue. Please contact the help desk for instructions. |
Meredith College has a
number of limited site licenses that are installed on faculty/staff
computers, department labs, and campus shared labs. Meredith has also
purchased a number of individual licenses of certain products that are
also installed on the campus shared labs. Because the site licenses
are limited, if a department or faculty/staff member needs installation
of a particular software package, arrangements will need to be made
with Technology Services first. Please visit the Meredith Computer
Lab Web Page to locate the software packages that are installed
on campus shared labs. |
