Workshops

Technology Services offers scheduled classes for faculty and staff on topics such as web page development, the Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Publisher), WS-FTP, Blackboard, SecureExam for faculty, usage of Xythos' Digital Locker for shared file space, and many other topics. Each session is approximately an hour in length, and the semester's schedule is posted at the link below. Check for Available Workshops.

Software

Blackboard
This is a summary of the guidelines for Blackboard usage at Meredith College. Information includes necessary maintenance parameters, course ownership guidelines, and availability timeframe. Learn more.

Securexam
This is a new classroom management tool that offers many features enabling faculty to know that students are using their computers for class work and not surfing the internet or instant messaging their friends during class. Learn more.

Digital Locker
Xythos' Digital Locker is a new offering to all faculty, staff, and students. Digital Locker provides web-based server space for users to share documents with others for collaboration and revisioning, to access files from remote locations, and to back up important documents on a secure system. Atomic Learning
For visual, interactive on-line tutorials, Technology Services now offers a campus-wide Atomic Learning subscription. Atomic Learning ia a library of "atom-sized bites" of movie tutorials that answer "How do I do that?" questions. This web-based resource is available 24/7 and allows access from school and home for faculty,staff, students, parents and family members. For username and password contact the Help Desk at 760-2323. Training Tutorials
Recognizing that training classes may be offered at inconvenient times, and recognizing that some people prefer to study at their own pace, Technology Services offers online instructional materials on various topics that might be addressed in standard load software. Go to section

Training CDs
For visual, interactive tutorials available for self-paced study, training CDs are available to check-out for a week at a time. Predominantly, topics are available on the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
