Client System Configuration for using Blackboard version 6
The following link displays the certified and compatible client operating systems and browser configurations supported by the Blackboard server at Meredith.:

*Please note that Internet Explorer 7 should be compatible with Blackboard
7, however, you will need to add courses.meredith.edu to one of your trusted
sites in the security settings.
Client Browser Configurations marked with an "X" are Certified. Configurations that are blank are considered to be Compatible. Certified configurations have undergone a thorough set of testing by Blackboard Quality Assurance. Blackboard recommends that clients adhere to the Certified Client Browser Configurations.
Computer Hardware minimum requirements are:
- Platform: Windows 95, 98, or 2000
- Hardware: 64 MB of RAM
- Browser: A Web browser such as Netscape 7.0 or higher and IE 6.0 or higher that can accommodate both JavaScript and Java. Cookies and JavaScript must be enabled. Blackboard requires Java Runtime Environment 2 version 1.4.x.
- A monitor capable of at least 800x600 resolution. For best performance, access Blackboard at 1024x768 resolution or higher.

If you have one of the required browser versions, you can enable cookies with the following steps:
Netscape Navigator 7.01 or higher:
1. Click 'Edit'
2. Select 'Preferences'
3. Then select 'Advanced'
4. Click on the checkbox next to the words "Accept all cookies that get sent back to the originating server", then click "OK".
Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher:
1. Click 'Tools'
2. Select 'Internet Options'
3. Then select 'Privacy'
4. Then select 'Advanced'.
5. When you see the "Cookies" entry. Click the "Always accept cookies" selection for first-party cookies, and then click "OK."
You may need to close and restart your browser for the settings to take effect.
