STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Grade
Point Average
1. By the end of the freshman year, Fellows
are required to have a 2.25 GPA.
2. A 2.50 total Meredith GPA and an overall 2.50 GPA are required
to remain in the Meredith Teaching Fellows Program.
Therefore, you must also maintain a 2.50 GPA for
any classes taken off campus.
CAMPUS/COMMISSION
TEACHING FELLOWS PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
In
order to remain in the Teaching Fellows Program,
Fellows are required to:
1. Attend all required seminars.
2. Attend all required cultural activities.
3. Complete public school obligations, leadership activities,
and community service activities.
4. Sign certificates of receipt each semester.
5. Participate in all activities as outlined by the policies
of the Teaching Fellows Commission.
6. Obtain the Director's signature on the off-campus credit form
for courses taken at other institutions.
7. Complete the Teaching Fellows Honors Curriculum (including
an Honors Thesis).
8. Follow the guidelines and information as outlined in the Teaching
Fellows Guidebook for Meredith College.
9. Maintain a calendar of events as conveyed in all monthly calendars,
letters, forum and campus newsletters, etc.
10. Dress professionally for Focus on Excellence events and all
other designated events.
11. Maintain a campus e-mail address and account.
12. Maintain current location information (school and home) with
the Teaching Fellows Office on campus and the Teaching
Fellows Commission.
13. Participate in Meredith
College
recruitment activities.
14. Adhere to all established deadlines.
CLASS
REQUIREMENTS
Freshman
class - over forty (40+) hours
- Tutor a minimum of ten
(10) hours per semester.
- Attend First Year Experience
seminars.
Sophomore
class - twenty-eight (28) hours
- Tutor and/or community
service (with an agency) for a minimum of ten
(10) hours per semester.
- Complete eight (8) hours
"Shadow a Leader" project.
Junior
class - forty (40) hours
- Internship (with mentor
teachers) for a minimum of ten (10) hours per
semester.
- Complete community service
(with an agency) for a minimum of ten (10) hours
per semester.
Senior
class - over forty (40+) hours
- Complete a minimum of
ten (10) hours with your mentor teacher during
the semester in which the Teaching Fellow will
not student teach.
- Complete ten (10) weeks
of student teaching.
