NC GreenPower Looking for Student Volunteers!

NC GreenPower is a nonprofit organization that uses voluntary funding to help support Renewable Energy and Carbon Offsets for the state of North Carolina.

At the table, volunteers staffers will be responsible for greeting fairgoers, answering brief questions about NC GreenPower and handing out promo items, such as our recycled newspaper pencils. Also at the exhibit, we will have illustrations of how renewable energy is created (solar, wind, etc) for people to look at, and a small solar display to show how power is created from the sun.

The State Fair this year is Thursday, October 14th – Sunday, October 24th, 2010. Shift times are only four hours each and are as follows: Morning: 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Afternoon: 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Evening: 5 p.m. until 9:45 p.m.

We are scheduling training sessions next month for a brief presentation and discussion on NC GreenPower and what they will do while at the booth. We plan to meet at our offices on NCSU Centennial Campus. We depend on volunteers to help us make this possible, and we need about 60 volunteers for this event.
