Sanjeeka Silva, sophomore.
"I learned about Meredith in my home, Sri Lanka, when students and faculty were there to help after the tsunami. I met the international studies director and about 20 students, including the student government president. She encouraged me to apply. Once I found out I’d been accepted into Meredith’s Honors Program, I knew I was coming here.
I’ve experienced so many new things since I’ve been at Meredith. I’ve seen an opera for the first time, and I’ve had the chance to ask a question of a Nobel Peace Prize winner who spoke on campus. That was an honor to attend—I’d never met a Nobel laureate before.”
Majors: Mathematics and Music.
Meredith International Association member, Tide of Hope (tsunami relief) committee member, Raleigh Concert Band member, Meredith-N-Harmony choir member, Canaday Math Club member.
Favorite Meredith Tradition: “I like that Meredith has so many traditions. I helped out with Can Art and dressed up for the Cornhuskin’ parade…it really helped me get to know other students."
