MISSION STATEMENT:

The mission of Volunteer Services is to provide service opportunities for all members of Meredith College who are committed to effecting change through their humanitarian contributions and civic engagement within the local community, the state, the nation, and the world. Affirming the role of community involvement as an integral component of the educational experience, we promote responsible citizenship and an ethic of service. Volunteer Services, in collaboration with non-profit agencies and schools, provides structures to identify and coordinate volunteer opportunities for Meredith College students, faculty, staff, and alumnae.
How We Can Help
The Office of Volunteer Services offers opportunities to fit all schedules and interests. Contact our office for:
  • consultation and guidance on volunteer opportunities, service projects, and events.
  • resources on service-related events and relevant service issues.
  • opportunities for campus organizations to collaborate on service projects.
  • information on the annual Fall Volunteer Fair with representatives from area community agencies.
  • cross-cultural and international service opportunities.
  • information regarding student conferences relating to service

The Office of Volunteer Services is located in Jones Chapel and is part of Meredith College's Division of Student Development. The Coordinator of Volunteer Services, Lynne Wheatley, encourages students to make an appointment or to stop by to discuss volunteerism.
