Residence Hall Information

All residence halls are air conditioned.
All resident rooms are equipped with voice mail. Each residence hall has drink and snack machines.
Each residence hall has laundry rooms available to the residents of that building. Laundry room facilities are free of charge to resident students and include washers, dryers and ironing boards. Ironing boards are also located in floor parlors.
All residence halls are locked 24 hours a day as a safety measure for the residents. Residents can gain access to the hall using their CamCard (campus ID card) and should carry their CamCard at all times.
For the 2011-2012 academic year, Poteat, Heilman, and Faircloth halls will be available to first year residents. Upperclass residents will reside in Brewer, Vann, and Stringfield halls.
Poteat Hall (4 floors)
Ground Poteat
- Rooms measure 11’9” wide by 21’ long.
- Community bathroom facilities are located on the hall with 3 showers, 2 stalls, sinks, and storage available for a maximum of 15 residents.
- Each room is equipped with moveable beds and a bookcase, built-in storage, and tile flooring.
- Mattresses for the twin beds measure 76” x 36” and are 21” from the floor. Because of the bed frame, nothing can be stored under the bed.
- Each room has a pair of windows that measure a total of 50” wide x 44” tall. Windows are equipped with window coverings (blinds).
- Ground floor has a parlor, kitchen, and laundry facilities.




Poteat Floors 1-3
- Rooms measure 11’6” wide by 21’ long
- Rooms are suite-style: two rooms share a bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet.
- Each room is equipped with built-in furniture and tile flooring.
- Mattresses for the twin beds measure 76” x 36” and are 21” from the floor. Because of the bed frame, nothing can be stored under the bed.
- Each room has a window that measures 50” wide by 44” tall. Windows are equipped with window coverings (blinds).
- Each floor has a parlor, kitchen, and laundry facilities.

Heilman Hall (3 floors)
- Rooms are suite-style: two rooms share a bathroom with a shower and toilet.
- Each room has its own sink and medicine cabinet.
- All rooms measure approximately 12’ x 15'’3”
- All rooms are carpeted and equipped with built-in furniture.
- Windows are 36” wide and 75” high. Windows are equipped with window coverings (blinds).
- The height of the bed from the floor is 21”.
- All floors have parlors with kitchens, as well as laundry facilities.


All furniture is built in.




Storage is available above each bed. Each room has its own sink and shares a bathroom.

Faircloth, Brewer, Vann & Stringfield Halls (4 floors)
These four courtyard buildings all have similar floor plans and similar rooms.
Floors 1-3
- Rooms are suite-style: two rooms share a bathroom with a shower/tub, toilet, and sink.
- Rooms measure approximately 11’ wide by 16’ long.
- Each room has a pair of windows measuring a total of 78” wide by 75” tall.
- Each room has wooden floors and movable furniture.
- Each resident has a 3-drawer dresser, desk with chair, bed with adjustable-height frame, and built-in closet.
- Adjustable-height bed frames raise to a maximum height of 39". This allows dressers to fit underneath.
- Loft kits are available for an additional charge each semester.
- Residents can also choose to bunk their beds at no extra charge.
- Each floor has a parlor with television and microwave.
- There are laundry facilities on two floors with two washers and two dryers in each room.
- Each courtyard residence hall has a kitchen located on the 1st floor.


Each resident in the four courtyard buildings has a 3-drawer dresser, bed, desk, chair, and closet.


Residents in the courtyard buildings also have the option of renting a loft
kit for a fee each semester. Lofts raise standard beds to a maximum height of 72".
Floor 4
- Most rooms are suite-style with a bathroom connected to two rooms. A few rooms do not have bathrooms connected to them. Those residents share a bathroom across the hall with two other rooms, and those bathrooms have extra facilities in them.
- Rooms have dormer windows measuring 35” wide by 48” high. Most rooms have two dormer windows, while a few have one.
