Are students required to live on campus?
First-year and sophomore students under age 23 must live on campus unless they reside with their parents, spouse or (with special permission) another close relative.

More than 85% of Meredith undergraduates live on campus at some time in their college career. Because Meredith is an active residence community, we recommend students continue to live on campus as juniors and seniors.

Do residents pay extra for on campus dining?
The cost of campus dining for resident students is included in room and board. The Residential Dining Membership provides a student with 21 meals per week in Belk Dining Hall and $50 Dining Dollars per semester to spend in the BeeHive Café. Your CamCard identifies you as a resident student and must be presented at each meal.

An optional 15+200 dining plan is offered to sophomores, juniors and seniors. This plan provides students with 15 meals per week in Belk Dining Hall and $200 Dining Dollars per semester for purchases made in the BeeHive Café. Students will receive registration information for this plan when they arrive on campus in August.

The cost for both plans is the same.

Visit www.meredith.edu/student-life/dining.htm for more information.

What is a CamCard?
A CamCard is a Meredith student's campus ID card.

Are male visitors allowed in the residence halls?
Male guests are allowed in Meredith’s residence halls during “open house” hours.  In general, open house hours are scheduled on most weekends during the school year. Specific open house weekends and hours are listed in the Student Handbook.

Residents are to escort their guests at all times while in the residence hall.

At times other than "open house" hours, male guests are allowed only in the residence halls’ first floor parlors and only when accompanied by a Meredith student or when waiting for her.

Residence Directors may grant special permission for male guests to carry heavy items to or from a student's room. Call the RD on duty at (919) 612-6350 to seek permission. Residents must announce to the hall when a male visitor is present. Male visitors must leave within 15 minutes.

A Meredith student's father and brother(s) under age 12 are allowed in the residence halls anytime before closing hours. The student is required to escort them to and from her room.

Males are not allowed on campus after closing hours except to accompany students to their residence halls. Then the man must immediately leave campus. Closing hours are 1 a.m. Sundays-Thursdays and 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

What is the policy for female guests?
A female guest is allowed to stay overnight on campus only if her host is also on campus. When hosting a female guest, a student should respect the rights of her roommate regarding the behavior and length of stay of the guest. The host should register her guest before 11 p.m. with her residence director, who will issue her a guest pass. If the guest arrives after closing hours, the student must register her with a security guard. The security guard may request identification of any guest coming in after closing hours. A guest will not be permitted onto campus if she does not have a guest pass or is not accompanied by her Meredith host.

Residents are permitted to host the same guest for a maximum of three nights within a 30-day period.

Am I allowed to have a car on campus?
