Director
Sherri Henderson is the director of health services for Meredith College. Henderson is a physician assistant who joined Meredith’s staff in 2007.

Henderson received her undergraduate degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Longwood College, Farmville, Virginia, and graduated from Duke University’s Physician Assistant program with a Master of Health Sciences degree.

Physician
Anne Smithson, M.D., has provided medical services at Meredith since 1995. Smithson received her undergraduate degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and her Medical degree from the University of Virginia. She can be reached at smithson@meredith.edu.

Dr. Smithson is available by appointment during the academic year on the following schedule:

Monday 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Thursday 9 a.m. – noon
Friday 10 a.m. – noon.

Nurses
During the academic year, nurses are available in the Health Center from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Meredith’s nursing staff members are Melinda McLain and Debbie Potter.

Melinda McLain, RNC, has been at Meredith since 1991. She is a registered nurse and received her nursing degree from Watts Hospital School of Nursing in Durham. She can be reached at mclainm@meredith.ed.

Debbie Potter, RN, joined the Meredith College Health Center in August of 2007. She is a registered nurse and received her nursing degree from the University of South Carolina. She can be reached at potterde@meredith.edu.
