Coordinator of Disability Services
Jill became the Coordinator of Disability Services in 2006 after joining the Counseling Center staff as a Disability Counselor in July 2004 and after serving as a part-time Disability Counselor from 2002-2003 as well as a Graduate Intern in the spring of 2002. She is delighted to be back at Meredith! Jill earned her Master's of Science in Rehabilitation Psychology & Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Bachelor's of Arts from Sweet Briar College in Virginia. She comes back to Meredith from Learning Disabilities Services at UNC-Chapel Hill where she served as a LD/ADHD Specialist. Jill has also has previous work experiences with Vocational Rehabilitation, Southlight Pathways (substance abuse treatment), and UNC-Chapel Hill's TEACCH program for individuals with Autism. Her professional interests include women with ADHD, adjustment to life transitions, women's issue's, self-advocacy, coaching, and mood disorders.

Betty-Shannon Prevatt, MA, LPA
Disability Counselor
Betty-Shannon began sharing the Disability Counselor position in January 2006 so that she could spend more time at home with her family. She has been a member of the Counseling Center team since October of 2002. She worked as the Coordinator of Disability Services from July 2004 until December of 2005. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from East Carolina University and obtained her undergraduate degree from Meredith College. As part of her training, Betty-Shannon worked at Interact and Cherry Psychiatric Hospital. Betty-Shannon’s previous employment includes neuropsychological testing and owning a private practice. She has also worked as an adjunct professor for Meredith in the Psychology Department and in the Communications Department. Her professional interests include women’s issues (trauma, pregnancy and infertility), depression, autonomy development, and coaching. Betty-Shannon lives in Cary with her family.
Disability Counselor
Renee returned to the Meredith College Counseling Center to serve as a Disability Counselor while Betty-Shannon Prevatt enjoyed her maternity leave. She then was hired permanently to share the Disability Counselor position. Renee completed her counseling internship at Meredith in 2004 while earning her Masters of Counselor Education degree from North Carolina State University. Renee is a Nationally Certified Counselor and is currently working to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. Before returning to Meredith, she worked as a mental health case manager for a community agency in Wake County. Renee's counseling interests include ADHD, relationship issues, identity development and promoting personal growth. Renee lives in Durham with her husband, Jonathan, son, Simon, and pets Keegan, Texas and Phoebe.

Office Manager
Angela joined the Counseling Center as full-time Office Manager in May of 2003. Angela is a Meredith College alumna, earning both a B.S. in Child Development and a B.A. in Psychology. In the near future, she hopes to continue in her education by pursuing her Master's degree in Counseling. Angela volunteers as a rape/crisis counselor at INTERACT. Some of Angela's interests include snow boarding, reading, swimming, baking, hockey (she loves the Carolina Hurricanes), and spending time with "little friends" (kids). She has eleven nieces and nephews. Angela lives in Raleigh and has a dog named Willie.
