Programs:

Aspiring Angels Mentor Program:
This culturally based mentor program provides an opportunity for multicultural students to establish relationships with professional women of color, explore career interests and develop a network of positive role models.

Campus Dialogues on Diversity: A variety of sessions are offered each semester to broaden the minds of our campus community and bring awareness to the many dimensions of diversity.

Orientation for International Students: This orientation occurs prior to the campus wide orientation for new students. The purpose is to introduce international students to the American education system, academic expectations and Meredith traditions and lifestyles. International Student Admissions Requirements

Reference Guide for Diversity Resources: This guide offers numerous multicultural and diversity resources including scholarships, literature, local and national organizations.

Safe Zone: Safezone is a program designed to offer students a safe place to discuss problems or issues related to gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender issues.  Safezone signs are placed on the doors of participating faculty and staff. Membership list

Sister to Sister:  A variety of programs are offered to develop friendships, establish support systems and participate in activities created especially for the student of color. The first 30 minutes of each session is designated for open discussion. Sister to Sister schedule of activities.

Summer Symposium for Multicultural Students: The symposium is a two-day educational and transitional experience to foster a sense of community among incoming first year and transfer multicultural students.

The symposium is an opportunity to provide students with campus resources, support personnel, coping strategies and cultural identity activities.


 

Organizations:

Association for Cultural Awareness:  
ACA exists for the benefit of all students of color and anyone who wishes to promote diversity at Meredith College. The association is involved in a variety of activities during the academic year. For additional information contact aca@meredith.edu.

Meredith International Association: MIA shares knowledge and understanding of the different cultures in the Meredith community.  MIA promotes interest in other cultures through interaction with other students, faculty, administration and community groups. Spectrum: Spectrum is the GLBT alliance on campus providing support for all members of the campus community who have concerns regarding issue of sexual orientation. Members include people who identify themselves as being gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, people with family or friends who are GLBT, and others who are interested and supportive.
