Study Skills Workshops
The following workshops offer specific assistance with study skills. Students may also make appointments for individualized assistance.
Time Management
This is an opportunity to (1)discuss how you spend your time, (2) identify activities that waste your time, (3) brainstorm strategies for better time management, (4) learn from your peers what works for them, and (5) develop skills in managing your time. The learning group will include discussion and activities, and will include handouts for participants to use throughout the semester.

Goal Setting
This is an opportunity to (1) learn what a goal is, (2) acquire skills for setting attainable goals, (3) develop action plans for reaching your goals, and (4) identify strategies for evaluating your goals. Choosing a Major
This is an opportunity to discuss strategies for choosing a major by looking at the academic requirements for that major, using resources such as Major Check Sheets and the Undergraduate Catalog, and using other campus resources to inform your decision. It will include discussion and activities to assist you in identifying your decision making style.

Pre-registration Preparation
This is an opportunity to prepare for pre-registration advising appointments and will provide students with resources for choosing classes, including Major Check Sheets, General Education Requirements, and the Undergraduate Catalog. It will also include a refresher on searching for classes through Web Advisor. This workshop will also focus on strategies for making the most of your appointment time with your faculty advisor.

Four Year Planning
This is an opportunity to develop a four year academic plan for your time at Meredith College. It will provide you with strategies for planning coursework as well as information on useful resources including Major Check Sheets, the Undergraduate Catalog, and faculty members. This learning group will also encourage you to include extra-curricular items in your four year plan, including internships, part time jobs, on campus activities and organizations, in order to develop a big-picture view of your plans to prepare your for graduation.

Major Exploration Group
This is an opportunity to explore and consider majors at Meredith. The group will address resources for gathering information and making choices, discuss decision making styles and roadblocks, assist you in developing decision-making skills, and encourage you to your options between majors, major-minor combinations, and other options. The group meets 4 times.
