Angela Shores, M.A., LPC-BE, Assistant Director, has been with Meredith since August 2005. She completed her graduate counseling internship May 2006, served as Summer Advisor, and began as Assistant Director in August 2006. She received her Master of Arts degree in community counseling from Campbell University in May 2006 and her B.A. degree in religion in December 2001, and has also completed several courses in the Master of Divinity program at Campbell. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in counselor education from North Carolina State University and is a Board Eligible Licensed Professional Counselor. Angela has over five years of experience in college counseling and student services settings at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Campbell University and Meredith College, gaining experience in residence life, admissions counseling, academic advising, coaching and career counseling. She also has experience in personal counseling and play therapy as a counselor. Her professional interests include time and stress management, goal setting, spiritual development, career development and transition, self-awareness and adjustment to college. Angela's academic and research interest is in the area of professional identity development.
Ashley Turlington, B.S., Academic Advisor, is pursuing her Master of Education degree in counselor education at NC State University with a focus on student development in higher education. She received her B.S. in statistics from NC State in May of 2004. She has previously worked in many student service capacities for the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at NC State, including teaching courses to first year students and peer mentoring programs. She also serves as a counseling research assistant for the Brothers in Excellence (BE) program.
Mary Misenheimer, M.S., Academic Advisor, is completing the doctoral program at NC State in counseling education and assists academic advising in a variety of areas including counselor appointments, educational workshops, and early advising and registration. Mary’s B.A degree from Cumberland College, and her master’s in counseling is from Johns Hopkins University.
Donda Blake, A.A., Administrative Assistant, joined Academic Advising in May 2005 after working for three years in Technology Services. Donda earned her associate degree in computer operations at Wake Technical Community College. In her time away from work, Donda enjoys shopping and being active in the Parent-Teacher Organization at her sons' schools.
