Leadership Development Programs
The Office of Student Leadership and Service sponsors programs and events that foster leadership skills, including workshops, local and national conferences and a discussion series.
Why participate in student activities and leadership programs? By taking on leadership roles on campus, you will gain skills that your future employers will value, such as managing projects, organizing events and leading groups. You’ll build confidence in your abilities, enhance communication skills, learn the importance of leading with integrity, and collaborate with others.
Offerings include:
- Emerging Leaders Seminar Series, a non-credit course featuring discussions, team-building activities and dinner with an alumnae panel.
- Sophie Lanneau Women’s Leadership Development Program, an ongoing program exploring the theory and practice of leadership, including ethics, diversity and women’s history.
- LeaderShape® Institute, a six-day program that encourages teamwork, ethical decision-making and personal reflection, as tools to produce extraordinary results.
- The Sloan Family Student Leadership Program, a yearly program that includes Leadership Connection, focusing on individual, group and community leadership development and Leadership Circle, a series of small group discussions about leadership.
- Student Clubs and Organizations: Meredith offers an array of nearly 100 clubs and organizations that are as diverse as the students who take part in them.
