Campus Chaplain / Sisters United
In response to the 2010 Meredith summer reading book Half the Sky, the Office of the Chaplain and the Class of 2013 formed Sisters United. Working through a child advocacy nonprofit ministry in Atlanta, Sisters United sponsors the educational needs of girls at orphanages in Kenya and Ghana. Many believe that educating girls in the developing world is one of the most effective ways to create positive change.
Angels Against Trafficking
We have an active anti-human trafficking student group called Angels Against Trafficking that works in awareness and fundraising, and teaches a healthy relationships and human trafficking awareness program to Raleigh area youth groups. AAT will travel to Washington DC to be trained in issues of human trafficking by DC non-profit, Fair Girls, meet with several elected officials about this important issue, enjoy a networking event with DC Meredith alumnae, and attend the Holy Eucharist Service at the National Cathedral.
See how Meredith students are going strong through international service.
