> Campus Safety and Security brochure
Meredith College is a community of more than 2,000 resident and commuting students. As part of the larger Raleigh community, the College shares many of the same interests and problems, including the concern about crime.
Although there has been no violent crime against Meredith students on campus, it would be unrealistic to say “it can’t happen here.” For this reason, a highly trained residence life staff and campus police force and the students themselves share responsibility to ensure the safest possible surroundings for Meredith students and their property.
Please read the brochure carefully, and use the information to help foster a safe environment for yourself and others on campus.

Security Policies and Procedures
Meredith College campus police officers provide 24-hour patrol service to the campus, including residence halls,
parking lots and grounds. The department has armed police officers and armed security officers. Campus police officers
and security officers wear a distinctive dark blue uniform with distinguishing shoulder patches and badge. Officers do not
wear civilian or plain clothes while conducting security business on the campus.
The campus police department is responsible for crime reports, initial investigations, coordinating fire and emergency medical services, traffic accident reports and other public safety services. Officers prepare and submit incident reports to the campus police chief who distributes them to other College officials. Suspected criminal actions or other emergencies should be reported as soon as possible. Dial 8888 from a campus telephone or 760-8888 from a cellular telephone.
Report all unusual incidents to your campus police department immediately. Never assume that someone else has reported a crime, suspicious activity or other emergency on campus.
