Meredith College’s Visioning Conference was held on January 27, 2012, and attended by faculty, staff, student leaders, alumnae, trustees, and community leaders.
Administrative Management Council’s February meeting focused on the results of Meredith’s first visioning conference.
A follow-up visioning conference for the entire student body was held on Monday, Feb. 20; all findings were presented on February 24.
President Allen announced Goals and Objectives Teams, or “GO” Teams, who will work on areas identified as central to the strategic plan: academic excellence, co-curricular collaboration, IT/infrastructure enhancement, enrollment clarifications, financial stability, and enhanced visibility for the College.
President Allen established a Strategic Plan Steering Committee, co-chaired by Vice President for Business & Finance Craig Barfield and Senior Vice President for Academic Administration Denise Rotondo.
Additional input from the campus community was gathered through a survey that focused on issues raised during the visioning process. These issues were rated by faculty and staff in terms of importance to the College’s future.
MARCH, APRIL and MAY
The Strategic Plan Steering Committee held monthly meetings throughout the development of the plan, working with the GO Teams as they drafted initial reports and with the College’s Executive Leadership Team.
The plan overviews and progress were shared at faculty meetings and Board of Trustees Executive Committee meetings. An overview of progress and initial content was presented at the full board meeting in March.
An initial draft of two key elements of the plan---enrollment and financial stability---was shared with the full Board of Trustees during the board’s summer retreat.
A full draft of the plan was presented by ELT to the Board’s Executive Committee during a full-day meeting, dedicated to review of the plan.
The refined and revised full draft was presented to the faculty and staff during Planning Week; additional opportunities for study and input were provided throughout the week. Students were also encouraged to review and comment on the plan.
Input and crosswalks were added; the refined plan was presented to the Board’s Executive Committee.
The finalized draft of the strategic plan will be presented to the full Board of Trustees.
Implementation and on-going assessment of the Meredith College Strategic Plan begins. Implementation will continue through 2016.
