 Social Work Week, March 19-23, 2007
The campus became aware of social work and myths
surrounding the profession were corrected through a publicity
campaign. A pizza party, graduate information session and
social took place during the week to bring the majors together for
some fun, prizes and free stuff! Phi Alpha Inductions were
held and new SSWA officers were selected for 2007-2008. All in
all, it was a great time for everyone!
Random Acts of Kindness Week, February 2007
The campus received goodies, information and
examples of Random Acts of Kindness. Posters, emails and other
awareness materials were distributed and random kindness acts were
encouraged!

Tree Project, November 2006
The Angel Tree project with Psi Chi &
Phi Alpha was a huge success!
Nina Hightower led the project and did a fantastic job -
thanks Nina! Social work majors came
through and raised $306 for the family we selected.
They received some nice gifts and we appreciate everyone
who donated! Thank you thank you thank you!

Baked Goods SWSA Fundraiser, November 2006
Thank you for all the donated baked goods!
With a generous donation of drinks by an outside
business, we raised $143!!
Halloween Social Work Program Promotion
Trying to promote the social work program on campus,
we invited the campus to experience tricks and treats on
the 3rd floor of Ledford. We decorated and
provided some goodies.
As a result, Dr. Bishop received some inquiries from
potential new majors! Good job!

Animal Drive, October 2006
Thanks to you and members of the Meredith community, we
collected a total of 962 stuffed animals for the
Interact Pet Pals Program! Thank you!

Walk
for Diabetes, September 2006
Teaming up with other members of the Meredith community,
members of SSWA raised money and walked in the American
Diabetes Walk for a Cure. We are proud that our
group of social work majors raised approximately half of
the total with a whopping $2000! Great job!
