The Social Work Club serves to support social work majors, facilitate communication among current and prospective majors and promote the field of social work.  The club is involved in service projects and serves as a forum for discussing social problems and issues.

Social Work Development Award
Each year the club gives a Social Work Development Award for a senior social work major who has completed 90 hours of course credits, reflects the values of the profession and has shown the greatest growth and development in becoming a social worker.  The award recipient is voted on by her peers and presented during the Spring Social Work Dinner.

The $1000 scholarship is awarded to a graduating BSW who must meet certain requirements including being involved in the Social Work Club (get those dues in!) and a member of NASW.  To read more about the requirements and to get the application, visit naswnc.org.

Fundraising Event
Thanks to those that participated in the baked good sale, we were able to raise $143!  To pay for club events and the dinner in May, we will be selling t-shirts and possibly having another fundraiser.  If you are interested in participating in planning, advertising and/or assisting/attending, please sign up here.

March  ~ Social Work Week
Social Work Week honors social workers!  Various speakers and activities are scheduled one week during the month of March.  A highlight of the week is the luncheon hosted by the Social Work Advisory Board.  Professionals share stories and thoughts on the social work profession.  If you would like to help to set up speakers and daily activities, please sign up here.  Photo Gallery

April ~ Sexual Assault Awareness
Sexual assault effects all college campuses.  We take time to educate the campus during this important month through awareness activities.  Indicate your interest in helping by clicking here.

May ~ Social Work Celebration
