Senate:

Senate is the branch of SGA responsible for overseeing all campus organizations and serving as the student voice on legislation and regulation changes.  Throughout a normal year, Senate spends a large amount of its time reviewing organization constitutions and approving proposed organizations. Each campus organization undergoes review every four years.

If you are interested in starting a new campus organization, please stop by the Office of Student Leadership and Service to pick up a copy of the Guidelines and Procedures for Establishing New Organizations at Meredith. By becoming an official organization, you have priviledges including an organizational account, access to reserving space on campus, an e-mail account, roster listing, participation in the activities fair, and access to all services on campus related to publicity.

This year Senate is pioneering a leadership development series for the officers of student organizations called Sustaining Leaders. The program will focus on taking theoretical frameworks of leadership and apply them to situations that the officers of organizations face here at Meredith.

Senate is comprised of an executive board and representatives.
