Goals for the year:
The Association of Meredith Commuters (AMC) is the SGA branch that represents all commuters at Meredith College, including traditional and non-traditional students; serves as a liaison between commuter students and the on-campus community; provides an opportunity to address commuter concerns through the “Commuter Connection” on Blackboard and during association meetings as needed. Several organizations have commuter representatives to address concerns and serve as advocates for commuter students.
AMC informs commuter students of campus-wide functions and
builds the commuter student community through programmed activities and
services. All commuter students are members of AMC and are encouraged to
attend meetings and events, and participate in activities.
Membership in AMC is open to all Meredith Commuters. Offices of the President
and Vice-President are elected in spring campus wide elections. Following
elections, the association will meet to appoint the remaining executive
positions of secretary, treasurer, social chair, publicity chair, two senators,
student life committee representative, two honor council representatives,
and two elections board representatives.
AMC hosts Commuter Appreciation Days and Commuter Appreciation
Week throughout the year full of free food, prizes, and activities for commuter
students.
