About the Atlantic Assessment Conference

The Atlantic Assessment Conference (AAC) is a collaborative effort on the part of Meredith College, the Virginia Assessment Group, and the NC State University Offices of Undergraduate Academic Programs Assessment and Student Affairs Planning, Assessment, Research & Retention, created to carry on the tradition begun by the NC State Undergraduate Assessment Symposium.

Like the Symposium, the AAC's mission is to provide a forum for higher education professionals to exchange ideas, discover new practices and form partnerships to enhance the full undergraduate educational experience through assessment. Sessions and workshops are designed to address both practical concerns and larger policy issues by providing attendees with ideas and tools that can be immediately shared and implemented at their home institutions, which range from community colleges to large research universities.

However, given its diverse leadership, the AAC also demonstrates a strong collaborative spirit, encouraging both two- and four-year institutions to become a part of the assessment conversation. The theme for the inaugural conference, Collaboration in a Changing World, sought to highlight this goal with diverse speakers and a broad range of topics for discussion.

The Atlantic Assessment Conference is currently on a biennial schedule, with the next conference to be held in Spring 2012. The 2012 Call for Proposals will open in Fall 2011. Please check back for details and submission information.
