Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)
Meredith College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate and masters degrees. American Dietetic Association (ADA)
Meredith has American Dietetic Association accredited programs at the undergraduate and post-baccalaureate levels. The Didactic Program in Dietetics was granted continued accreditation by the Commission on Dietetic Education (CADE) through 2011. Contact: Dr. Susan Fisher
Meredith also offers a post-baccalaureate Dietetic Internship Certificate Program, accredited by CADE. The next site visit for this program is also set for 2011. Contact: Cathie Ostrowski
Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
The Bachelor of Social Work degree program is accredited by CSWE. Their most recent site visit took place in February, 2004. The program was reaffirmed by the COA with no interim report requirement. Contact: Dr. Cynthia Bishop
Council for Interior Design Accreditation (formerly FIDER)
The College's baccalaureate interior design program is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation. A re-affirmation site visit was held in 2007, and the Commission voted in July to grant six-year accreditation. The next scheduled self-study and site visit is in fall 2013. National Association of Schools of Music (NASM)
Meredith's Bachelor of Arts in Music, Bachelor of Music in Music Education, and Master of Music in Performance and Pedagogy are accredited by NASM. A site visit was completed in Spring 2000 and the programs were reaccredited. The next site visit is scheduled for 2009.
The music education program is also accredited by NCATE and the North Carolina DPI (see below). Contact: Dr. David Lynch
National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)
Programs offered by Meredith
that lead to teacher licensure at both the initial and
advanced teacher preparation levels are accredited by NCATE.
Re-accreditation was last re-affirmed in 2001. A regularly
scheduled site visit took place in October 2007; the report
from that visit is expected in Spring 2008.

North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI)
Meredith College's teacher education programs are also approved by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. The most recent self-study and site visit were completed in October 2007, which included an initial review of the undergraduate English As a Second Language (ESL) licensure program. A report of the complete review is anticipated in Spring 2008. Contact: Dr. Toni Parker

American Bar Association (ABA)
Meredith's post-baccalaureate certificate program for legal assistants (the Paralegal Program) is reviewed by the ABA. The College's program was most recently re-approved by the ABA in 2006. The next scheduled site visit is in 2012. Contact: Marisa Campbell
North Carolina Teaching Fellows Commission
The Teaching Fellows program at the College is reviewed by the Teaching Fellows Commission. The most recent site visit was completed in October 2003. The next review is set for November 2007. Contact: Allynna Stone
National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)
The College's athletic programs are approved by the NCAA. Meredith College is a Division III institution. The NCAA does not make site visits. The most recent self-study was completed in 2005-06. Contact: Jackie Myers
