Frequently Asked Questions
Office of the Registrar FAQ
I am a full-time student and I need a verification for my parents insurance company. How do I get one for them?
- Official verifications for the current semester can be confirmed after the drop/add period. Please contact our office by visiting us, calling us or emailing us. We will ask for a Student ID and an address or fax where we can mail out or fax the verification. Preliminary verifications can be shared prior to the drop/add period, but please keep in mind that they indicate that you are "pre-registered" and not "registered."
My lender has sent me an In-School Deferment Request form to be complete by Meredith College. Where do I take this form?
- In-School Deferment Requests should be submitted to the Office of the Registrar. After the drop/add period, we will complete the form and sent it to your lender.
I earned an outside scholarship and need to verify my enrollment. How do I do that?
- We will be happy to verify your official enrollment for the outside scholarship after the drop/add period. Preliminary verifications can be shared prior to the drop/add period, but please keep in mind that the preliminary verifications indicate that you are "pre-registered" and not "registered."

I need to add a closed course. How do I do that?
- There are a variety of ways to try to add a course at Meredith College. For example here are a few options:
1. During pre-registration, students are encouraged to "waitlist" a course. Students will be notified if they are moved out of the waitlist and into a course. Students that are not moved into the course will need to attend the drop/add activities.
2. The Office of the Registrar organizes a drop/add session prior to the first day of classes to better assist students with the various activities that are associated with dropping and adding courses. We encourage students to attend this session.
3. If students still need to add a course, we encourage them to attend the first day of class and ask the professor to consider their situation (students should attend the class with an add slip. Add slips are available in the Office of the Registrar). Most professors will either sign the students add slip or ask them to see a department head for further consideration.

I am getting a slow response on WebAdvisor -What is the problem?
- There are a number of conditions that might affect your response time in WebAdvisor. Often, an increase in the response time is related to traffic over the communication lines. Depending upon your location, WebAdvisor users your campus Intranet, the Internet, or both. The number of users on any portion of those systems will often slow the response time for everyone. Downloading large files via Meredith's communication lines will drastically increase response time for all other users on the system. High levels of WebAdvisor use by other members of Meredith also affect your response time. This is caused not only by increased user traffic, but also by the additional processing required of Meredith's host machine to respond to WebAdvisor queries.
- You may also experience slower performance during peak usage periods for your Internet Service Provider (ISP). During these times, we encourage you to stop by our office for immediate assistance.
I am getting the message "Maximum number of cookie values has been reached" -What does this mean?
- This message is caused by a program bug within WebAdvisor. Simply, Log out of WebAdvisor and Log In again.
This error may have been caused by opening four or more WebAdvisor hyperlink windows. For example, if you opened one hyperlink window (to check a particular section) and the hyperlink led you to an additional window (to view the section information), then you may have received this message. If several windows were opened in this manner, you may have triggered the error message "Maximum number of cookie values has been reached."
