Frequently Asked Questions
When are abstracts due?
Abstracts are due on February 28, 2010. Abstracts should be no longer than 180 words. Please make sure it meets the APA Publication Manual standards. Submit your abstract using the online submission form on this website.
When do I find out if my paper is accepted?
Emails of acceptance/rejection are generally sent out within 2-3 weeks of the abstract deadline. Your paper cannot be accepted if it is a literature review. Additionally, evidence that the data has already been collected and analyzed is key to your paper's acceptance.
How do I register?
You can preregister online using the "Registration" link before April 11 for $10. Registration at the door will be $15. Preregistration fees are not refundable.
What should I wear?
The conference is a professional conference. Therefore, professional dress is appropriate for all attendees (even if you are not presenting) on Saturday. Shorts, jeans, and T-shirts are not appropriate.
What do I do during my paper presentation?
Paper presentations are allotted 15 minutes of time on the program. This allows you about 10 minutes to make a presentation of your experiement/project. This generally allows enough time to briefly touch on the introduction, methods, results, and discussion with approximately 2-3 minutes for questions. Use overheads rather than notecards. We will be equipped to accomodate PowerPoint presentations. We recommend that students have their presentation with them in multiple media formats, such as USB flash drive, CD, and backed up on a web email account. Handouts for the audience that describe your project in more detail are a nice addition to your presentation, but are certainly not required. Come prepared for your talk; we do not provide access to printers.
When do we get a copy of the program?
Programs will be given out on April 17th during registration. In addition, the schedule of paper presentations will be posted on this website by April 12th, 2009. We look forward to seeing you there!
How many people typically attend this conference?
