Advanced Training in Psychology
Earning a B.A. in psychology is a valuable foundation for advanced study in many areas. If you continue your study in areas within psychology you can earn an advanced degree, an M.A., Psy.D., or Ph.D., for example. In most cases the job title "psychologist" is reserved for people who have earned an advanced degree.
Career areas for students who earn an advanced degree include:
- Clinical Psychology
- Cognitive Psychology
- Industrial/Organizational Psychology
- Developmental/Child Psychology
- Health Psychology
- Experimental Psychology
- School Psychology
- Counseling Psychology
- Social Psychology
- Neuropsychology
After graduation from college, if you continue your education in an area outside of psychology, you will find that your background in psychology can be very helpful in career areas such as business, education, social work, art therapy, law, and medicine.
