This course meets the education requirement for notary publics in NC. Study the 10th edition of the Notary Public Guidebook for North Carolina (available from the Institute of Government, (919) 966-4119) prior to coming to class and bring a copy to class. A test is given at the end of class.
Electronic Notary Public (CE 1405)

Audience: Anyone already commissioned as a notary public in NC

This class is designed to instruct existing NC notary publics in the new legislative procedure required to perform electronic notarial acts. In order to qualify for electronic notarization certification, students must hold a valid commission as a NC notary public. Upon completion of the course, the student must pass an examination with a minimum grade of 80%. The student then will submit an application to the North Carolina Secretary of State’s office for their electronic notary commission. Students must provide picture ID and be able to speak, read and write English to be admitted to class.
