Cornhuskin’
Just like your daughters, parents are encouraged to “experience” Cornhuskin’, one of Meredith’s most beloved campus traditions. Cornhuskin’ is one of Meredith’s oldest traditions, dating back to 1945. Where else can you see hog callin’, cornhuskin’ and apple bobbin’ than each November on the Meredith College campus?
Parents and families are invited to join the campus community for Cornhuskin’ 2009 on Friday, November 6. The schedule is:
3:30 p.m. – Parade, Front Drive
4:30 p.m. - Reception for Alumnae and Parents, Jones Chapel Gazebo
6 p.m. – Cornhuskin’ class competition, McIver Amphitheater
On Saturday, November 7, the Office of Alumnae & Parent Relations will sponsor an After Cornhuskin’ Breakfast. The breakfast will start at 10 a.m. at the Jones Chapel Gazebo. Cost per person is $12 (resident students do not need to pay this fee).
To RSVP for the Friday reception or the Saturday breakfast, please call the Office of Alumnae & Parent Relations at (919) 760-8548.
For those parents wanting to show their support for their “even” daughters, the Class of 2012 is selling T-shirts that say EVEN MOM, EVEN DAD and GO EVENS. Shirts cost $10 and can be purchased by contacting Amanda Oliver, '02 at oliveram@meredith.edu or (919) 760-8391.
