By Megan Deane Greer, ’03, Associate Director of Admissions
On August 13, Meredith welcomed the Class of 2015. This year’s freshman class of 398 students is a 9% increase in freshman enrollment from 2010. The new class hails from 19 states and 19 countries. Meredith’s global presence remains strong with 25 international students, and nearly 18% of our freshman class is from out of state. We continue to support a robust Honors Program with the inclusion of 43 talented young women, including three Alumnae Legacy Scholars and one Presidential Scholar.
Even before this new class arrived, the Office of Admissions had begun recruiting the Class of 2016. This fall, our admissions counselors continue traveling across the country to share Meredith with students. From New England to Florida, the Admissions team will be attending college fairs/programs and visiting high schools.
Fall is the time of year when many students are visiting college campuses, so please encourage high school seniors you know to attend our next Senior Visitation Day on Monday, October 31. Students and their families will be able to visit classes, learn more about financial assistance and scholarship opportunities, hear from current students and go on a campus tour.
Meredith visitation days for 2011-12 are as follows:
Senior Visitation Days
Monday, October 31, 2011
Monday, January 23, 2012
Junior Visitation Days
Saturday, February 18, 2012
