Audience: Anyone interested in Feng Shui, moving into a new home, enhancing an existing home or wanting to learn how to improve the quality of their life through their environment

Have you heard about Feng Shui but always wondered how harmony can actually be created in your life by moving your furniture and belongings around? Things happen when you change the “energetics” and “patterns” in your home, work or any environment. Discover how your environment is affecting and reflecting your life, and gain the
skills to make positive adjustments and experience more joy in your home and work spaces. Learn the principles of Feng Shui as well as how to apply them in your home and office in order to create an overall balanced environment. Select an area from your home or work needing attention and complete weekly homework projects to help bring the space in alignment with Feng Shui concepts, such as the Bagua and Five Elements.

Basic Women’s Safety and Self-Defense (0544)

Audience: Women of all ages

This course will help women understand the dangers presented by sexual predators. Learn to minimize vulnerability to assaults. With lecture and hands-on training, the first half of each class will be spent in the classroom and the second in the gym. Learn to identify “rape-drugs,” analyze potentially dangerous scenarios, and study several methods of verbal assertiveness. During the second half of class, learn basic self-defense techniques designed for women to use in emergency situations. Wear athletic clothing, tennis shoes and minimize jewelry.

Discovering a Spiritual Path with Heart (1097)

Audience: Anyone interested in developing a meditation practice or seeking an appopriate spiritual path.

Explore the possibilities of discovering a spiritual path that emphasizes living with loving—kindness, compassion and wisdom. Gain instruction in mindfulness meditation and how to establish daily practice at home. Discuss the challenges of living with awareness in our modern society and how difficulties can become the raw material for inner awakening. There will be a balance of meditation instructions and practice along with the discussions. The recommended text for the workshop is A Path With Heart by Jack Kornfield. Bring a folded blanket and cushion if you wish to sit on the floor. Chairs are available.

Learn how to get organized in case a disaster strikes.
